Students

If you think you may have a disability and need to be in Special Education classes, talk to your parents, teacher, or school counselor. They can help you figure out what the next steps should be.

Special Education Courses are designed for children who have learning disabilities that affect their ability to learn in a traditional classroom setting.

Most children with disabilities attend public schools, where they are educated in regular classrooms with appropriate accommodations and modifications made to the curriculum, instructional methods, and environmental arrangements. However, some students require more specialized instruction and related services than can be provided in a regular classroom. For these students, special education classes may be the most appropriate setting for learning.

Special education classes vary in their focus and approach, but all are designed to help students with disabilities access the same general education curriculum as their peers. In addition to academic instruction, special education classes may also provide students with support in areas such as social skills, self-care, and independent living.

If you need more assistance just speak with you parent/caregiver or to the school authority for further assistance.
